Dispersing aids

Dispersing aids

In the pulp and paper making processes there are various chemical structures which have low water solubility.

Such materials, which are often hydrophobic, tend to stick together and adhere to as well as build up aggregates on surfaces, with the potential of creating quality problems both for the runnability of the process as well as lowered quality of the finished goods, through formation of spots and specs.

In pulping processes such hydrophobic chemical can typically be the extractives from the wood and in recycling processes - “stickies” or often called “white pitch”. Dispersing aids are components aimed to disintegrate such hydrophobic materials and keep them finely dispersed to avoid build up of aggregates/lumps in order to minimise negative impacts on processes and end products. Nopco offers a range of solutions for such applications, that can be tailored to your individual needs.

  • Silicone - Used in more than you could ever imagine

Silicones have a positive effect on virtually every aspect of the paper industry. From pulp processing to paper finishing, label making, and paper recycling, silicones add value, improve productivity, and lessen the impact of paper-making operations on our environment.
